Goodbye
The green of grass the blue of sky
And all that is found in between
The great emptiness between is freedom, a huge supply.
What once was now it is not
Everything happens as it should
Yet peace is a thought and not serene
If I attempt I know I could
Escape from that which holds me back
Returning then to what feels good
Gaining again what I now lack
If you see the word through my eye
You’ll, no doubt, see the world pitch black
I can’t live my life like a lie
Now I must learn to say goodbye
And all that is found in between
The great emptiness between is freedom, a huge supply.
What once was now it is not
Everything happens as it should
Yet peace is a thought and not serene
If I attempt I know I could
Escape from that which holds me back
Returning then to what feels good
Gaining again what I now lack
If you see the word through my eye
You’ll, no doubt, see the world pitch black
I can’t live my life like a lie
Now I must learn to say goodbye
