The Price of Patriotism

You could capture flies in too many jars,
For every death, there is twice that at home,
And she will weep for the love that is gone,
but there will be no guilt felt from the Czar

You will find her in in the seams of his mind,
carrying the burden of war from him.
He paid the price of patriotism
but still they said, "No man gets left behind."

She feels in the gut and in the heart
that which he can no longer comprehend
She will play make believe and play pretend
and he will recite "till death to us part."
