When I'm Gone

Now that I’m gone from your life
Who will be there to purge it of the strife?
Who will wipe your tears away
On the nights when you never want to see the light of day

Who will run their hands through your hair
And ask questions any normal man would never dare
Who will wait for you throughout every day and night
Just to see the smile form upon your lips at the first light

Who will wash away all of the rain
And clear your life of all the pain
When I’m gone—what will happen when you don’t have me?
Whose shoulder will the tears fall upon when you want no one to see

Who will love you with all of their soul and heart
Now that you have forced me to part
What will you do when there are no stars in the sky
And you’re screaming at the world begging the question, why?

Why does all the pressure have to fall upon you?
I’m sorry I can no longer be there too
Who will cover your head when the stars cry
And you beg for the world to let you die

Who will sit by your side when you need someone?
Who will be there to hear you speak until the rising of the sun?
Now that I’m gone, what happens to our songs of love?
Did you throw them through the temperament of the above?

Who will you go to when you need a hand to hold
Who will warm your heart when it becomes unbearably cold
Who will wipe away your tears?
And tell you words to expel your fears?

Who will stand by your side until a smile comes to your mouth
When the pressure of it all finally begins to go south
Who will you miss when you’re all alone
What happens when you are sitting all alone on your throne

Now that I’m gone, whom will you look to for peace?
Fear not, for soon all of your pain shall cease.
As I will be gone from your life forever
And then, you can find another heart to sever.
