Pantoum

With a gentle smile, your large hand consumes mine
I sit on your knee
You’re invincible. My super hero
Love flows like cool water

I sit on your knee
My heart bursts
Love flows like cool water
This feeling is unreal

My hear bursts
My eyes opened
This feeling is unreal
My soul is wounded

My eyes opened
I see that I have been blind
My soul wounded
I feel the image crack

I see that I have been blind
Are you sightless to your insensitive, irritated manner?
I feel the image crack
Do you feel your heart crack?

This poem is a Pantoum, a fixed form of poetry. In this poem I feel that each stanza grows and builds on the next. It is about a young child who thinks this person in their life is the best, but realizes as they grow up that this person isn't all they thought they were, and realize that the person hasn't changed, but they themselves have changed and had been blind to how the person has really been all along. I like creating this poem because specific lines you use in one stanza need to be used in the following as well, and it was fun coming up with lines that could be read and interpreted in two different ways and tones. If you read, pleasepleasepleasee comment, I'd appreciate it alot and would love to hear your feedback! :D
