Happily Never After-In Iambic Pentameter

The dresses swirl, the lights are dim, the songs,
Play loudly drifting through the sparkling air.
For just one dance is all her young heart longs
Yet ask for one she does not even dare.
A stunning princess, dress grazing the floor
Though on the inside she’s and utter mess
She came to make mem’ries she could adore
Yet she’s alone and sad she must confess.
She’s like an actress as she hides her frown
The laughter all around her makes her wince
She’s standing in her silky blue ball gown
And waits to be swept away by her sweet prince.
