The Stalker

The sun set low in the evening sky
the breeze blows right on by
as I look down the empty street
and where the roads meet

She walks swiftly from a cafe
getting further and further away
towards her I go
as it begins to snow

She walks with such grace
leaving not a trace
I can only smile
watching her all the while

She looks at me, full of angelic beauty
being with her's now my only duty
I walk towards her in a trance
she jogs away from my advance

I slink into shadows, my heart starts to race
she slows to a normal pace
I approach her at the corner
in the moonlight, she looks sad, like a mourner

her face empties of emotion
they're still in there causing a commotion
her sadness, again, breaks through
as she starts to cry, I wonder why

Her eyes are like a looking glass
as if, right through them, I could pass
although, this isn't wonderland
not here, where we stand

she turns to face me, eyes full of tears
and I just stand there, as she leers
she brushes past me, rejection clear
I taste salt on my lips, a single tear

I start to softly mutter
my heart all a flutter
my flow of thoughts, beginning to start
to tear my soul apart

My time with her meant little
her words a cryptic riddle
I can't think of something is worse
for I can't break her silent curse

on my wrist a small incision
darkness at the edges of my vision
I don't waste my tears to weep
as I drift into eternal sleep
