1000 Year War

Once upon a time
The sky was born a bastard son of sun
Left alone to stray and rein upon emptiness
And it his youth he grew until he consumed the stars
And as he grew, he longed for companionship

And then one day, the earth was born
And that's when the sky fell in love
Bound to her as winter bound to snow
And forever the sky was meant to remain.

And with some time his happiness
Consumed the earth
and they gave birth
To trees, the sea
And lush green lands.
And mountains tall and golden sands.

And this is where our story hence begins.

One day the trees and greenery
Wished to live eternally
And claim the earth which they were born
And take the lands that they'd adorn

The sky did not take kind to this
For it would ruin Gaia's bliss
For with the trees within her sight
She'd never see her sky, the light.

So father sun and bastard child
Went insane with rage so wild
Together they'd defeat the trees
and teach a lesson to greenery.

Deep dark woods now took the land
As sun beat down with rays so grand
Yet no matter how the sun did fight
much of the forest kept out the light

The wood perhaps had won that battle
but did not win the war
For still today the sky it weights
upon the forest and its rein.
