Empty Shell

A coward may hide behind the mask of a man,
But never will it fit him.
Relish the blood of your victim
Like a morning brew,
Giving you courage to face the challenges of today.
What happens when you run out?
When the courage supplied is gone
And you crash back in to reality?
Fear takes over you,
Terror ravaging your mind,
You realize you are alone.
Nobody can help you.
Poured your love in to a demon,
Then mistook its grip on your soul as affection.
An eternal bond that you wish to support.
Blinded by loneliness,
You murder the innocent,
The demon feeding on the evil growing within you.
But once that evil consumes your heart,
Alters your soul in to something horrible,
The demon will devour it,
Leaving you as a shell,
And you'll be too empty to recognize loneliness.
