Bliss

Lying, falling, no denying
Black crows bleed as they’re crying
Aching feathers, stretch your wings
Escaping Earth as you break plastic strings

Writhing, rotten, on the floor
All prisons have open doors
Memorizing lyrics, and the sounds
Shooting rusted bullets at frozen crowns

Living, breathing, dreading the end
Pausing to look around the bend
Paranoid muses, crossing the lines
Shutting the windows and the blinds

Waving, breaking, you’ll never know
How much it hurt me to watch you go
All good things must come to an end
You left me broken, now make amends

Leave me with one last good thing
Waiting for my life to bring
One last thing so I don’t miss
Leave me with one last kiss
So I may live in this cruel bliss
