A Royal Wedding

The music strikes up,
The huge church rings with anticipated excitement.
The ladies wear their biggest hats,
The gentlemen wear their finest suits.
Every pew is decorated with exquisite flowers,
Overflowing with people
Grinning joyful smiles.
The high, cream colored ceiling arc,
Capturing the organs blissful music
Echoing in the high rafters.
A chorus of a hundred people
Open their mouths in unison
And sing as one.
The large, dark oak doors are unbolted
And a delicate high heeled slipper
Steps softly on the white aisle
Sprinkled in fresh flower petals.
Out emerges the gorgeous Princess,
And her handsome Prince dressed in blue.
His golden shoulder tassels swish
As he walks with his
Beautiful to-be bride on his arm.
She floats in her lace gown;
Her veil flows behind her,
Her train carpets the ground.
They kneel at the wooden alter
Prepared to promise themselves
For richer or for poorer,
For better or for worse,
In front of the entirely occupied church,
As well as the spectators cheering outside, and the
Whole world who is watching along at home.
The priests voice rings with the
Pure words of Holy Matrimony.
They speak the three little letters that
Send cheers erupting around the globe
And hearts of hopeless romantics soaring.
Hand in hand they walk out of the Church
Into crowds of people merrily tossing rice,
As they climb in their sleek black limo,
Whisking them off to live in their majestic castle
To live happily ever after,
Together, forever.
It’s a modern fairy tale in England today,
Capturing the hearts of dreamers forever.
