The True End
A pain left
unspoken
left to fester
in my broken
heart
Has released
me from its
thorned fingers
I unfurl my
wings
and breathe
The air crisp,
cool and calm
a peace I
have missed
I thank the wind
for filling my wings
and lifting me
off the ground
I thank the fire
that refused to go out
and guided me through
the dark storm
I thank the water
that nurished me
and held me
when no one else would
I thank the earth
for staying so still
when my life
wouldn't stop
going 'round
so now Let the
dead rest
and the
living live
the time
has come
to forgive
and forget
For we have
reached the true end
so close the book now
open
one afresh
ready to begin
Again
unspoken
left to fester
in my broken
heart
Has released
me from its
thorned fingers
I unfurl my
wings
and breathe
The air crisp,
cool and calm
a peace I
have missed
I thank the wind
for filling my wings
and lifting me
off the ground
I thank the fire
that refused to go out
and guided me through
the dark storm
I thank the water
that nurished me
and held me
when no one else would
I thank the earth
for staying so still
when my life
wouldn't stop
going 'round
so now Let the
dead rest
and the
living live
the time
has come
to forgive
and forget
For we have
reached the true end
so close the book now
open
one afresh
ready to begin
Again
