My Cocoon

Days go by, time is ticking
Getting older, more responsibilities
What happened to those days,
The ones spend on playgrounds?
Playing pretend and imagining,
Those days are long gone.

Four years I've been in this cocoon
When will I mature enough to break free?
That is all I want.
They told me I have three years
Until I escape to new places
As a brand new, beautiful butterfly.

Until then, I'm a maturing caterpillar
Stuck in my silky cocoon.
What great memories here,
Will I remember them when I leave?
I guess I'll wait and see someday
When I come home to my cocoon.
