Weeping Willow and Robin Red

The willow sat weeping
upon its bank and bed.
For she was nature sleeping
and he was a robin red.

Tweet tweet and many blesses
the robin sang about,
as he made her lovely tresses
his homely bird house.

The weeping willow sighed,
wind creaking her old limbs,
for she was eager to abide
the red robin and his whims.

One day the handsome red
came home with his spouse,
whose blue shelled eggs
rested sleeping in the house.

And willow looked upon them
with a knotted smile.
For she was mother to the nest
and he the father child.

The willow sat singing
into the rocky river bed.
Because she was nature sleeping
and he was happy robin red.
