The never ending cycle

His little eyes were like small stars opening on the world for the first time,
Looking more beautiful then flowers in spring time.

His eyes sparkling with merriment at the new things there is to see,
And at the people that are crowding to take care of the new baby.

Days and months pass and the baby’s fascination just grows,
He cautiously takes his first steps while mommie claps and daddy shouts bravos.

He’s as happy as can be,
Running after every beautiful thing his curious eyes see.

Nothing troubling his little mind,
Except getting his toy car rewind.

Years pass and suddenly mommie is looking through schools,
And the little is enjoying buying his first school tools.

The first school day is here and it feels like an adventure,
But fear comes up like a monster crawling through him upon mommy’s departure.

He sits with his daddy in the garden watering the lovely tulip,
And he can’t wait till he grows up.

Day and years flew by and the little boy is now a teen,
Trying to blend in and seeing new things on the screen.

Meeting new people every day and falling in love,
And, of life, he simply can’t get enough.

Then comes the pain of a broken heart,
And the feeling that the pain will tear him apart.

But he’s about to find out that life stops at nothing,
And soon he’ll find himself at his own wedding.

Now he’s the husband and the daddy,
And he’s holding his baby and seeing his innocent beauty.

He finds himself doing chore after chore,
And he finds himself wishing he was a baby once more.

Life is a never ending cycle,
We all have to go through it whether it’s harsh or gentle.
