Rain

Pitter patter, pitter patter
The rain calls out to me
Pitter patter, pitter patter
Listen while I sing you to sleep

The song I often hear at night
That lulls me in my bed
Is made of raindrops very lightly
Splashing on the roof overhead

It calms me down and makes me smile
It Mother Nature taking its course
It can be harsh, soft, loud, it’s very versatile
But no matter what I hear the notes sounding off in fourths

Pitter patter, pitter patter
The rain calls out to me
Pitter patter, pitter patter
Listen while I sing you to sleep

Most of the people I’ve ever known
Hate the sound of the rain
It keeps them up all night, next morning they moan and groan
It’s just rain, I always say, but all they do is simply complain

It’s water sent down from the heavens
It’s the key to the natural world
It has the power, if you’re willing, to ease all your tensions
And if you’re like me, you love watching rain fall in simple swirls

Pitter patter, pitter patter
The rain calls out to me
Pitter patter, pitter patter
Listen while I sing you to sleep

Listening to the rain is like listening to your heart
You always do it, whether you know it or not
It’s always comforting, no matter what you thought
Because rain’s a beautiful thing; a smile of a thousand Watts

Pitter patter, pitter patter
The rain calls out to me
Pitter patter, pitter patter
Listen while I sing you to sleep
