mummy got drunk
Her stomach quivers in hunger,
Another night without a meal,
Her third night in a row.
Screams shake the two-story house,
The little girl hides under her bed,
Her mummy’s drunk again.
A car pulls off the side of the road,
Her daddy leaves,
And doesn’t come back.
A hole is dug in a backyard,
Mummy’s drunk and pushes her in,
Burying her alive.
Sirens fill the starry night,
Her neighbor saw a horrific sight,
But help has come too late.
Her daddy stands at her shaded grave,
He knew her mummy beat her,
If only he had stayed.

The little girl hides under her bed,
