Black River (release me)

Lift me up
By my eyelids
from this black river
i've fallen to the waves
of mindless temptation
and I swear to shallow
all my words whole
and to walk the bridge of bliss
into the tsunami of misery
If you could only let my arms
touch the freedom-filled air
so i can see the light
once more
I can try to forgive myself
once more
because this river
i've grown to come used to
is black as a coffin
that is sealed
six feet under
and my mind
that is trapped
so deeply inside the darkness
that has consumed me
has become a portal
into a world i can only describe
when my face hits
the cool wind of the midday
upon the rooftop
of my sanctuary
that's above this cold
black river
so lift me
by my swollen eyelids
so i can see this portal
and welcome you
to the
Black Ocean Sunset
