Broken Promises.

The sun peered in,
the light upon your face.
Sighing in frustration,
of the memories I must erase.

Your soft golden hair,
Blue eyes deep as the seas.
Your hand held on to mine,
As I feel for your loves disease.

As I stand up to leave,
hovering over your rising chest.
pain aches inside my heart,
leaving me distressed.

The door calls my name,
my bags sitting along the wall.
your nose slightly twitched,
my heart stopping at the close call.

With one last look,
I peel my eyes away from your bed.
For I wished it didn’t have to end,
my heart seemingly going dead.

The door closed without a sound,
My feet tapping against the stone.
I breathe in the crisp winter air,
longing for your sweet cologne.

My escape finally complete,
As I go to take one last look.
I promised I’d love you forever,
For that promise I mistook.
