Flood

The bright light of the moon shone down upon the fast moving river,
Illuminating certain tiny waves to create a glitter effect.
Amongst the water, you could see debris from the flooded houses,
Created by the tremendous rainfall all week.
Floating on the surface is a girl’s rag doll and a boy’s toy truck,
Both swept away before they could be saved.
Other children’s toys and memories are
Washed away by the killer rain water.
