If I Could Paint

If I could paint, I'd paint the truth
I'd shade the old and stencil the youth
Gray clouds would glow; the sun, it would sigh
Fog would be blue to cool down the sky

Trees would be diamond, gold would be dust
Volcanic rubble would follow our lust
All our past actions would lie by our shoes
Exposing our anger, our weakness, our blues

Love would be bright neon light in the sky
Growing and growing, yet waiting to die
Every small animal born bold at heart
Would tear petty human barriers apart

Music would walk through the streets in the night
Putting out fires and putting down fights
Walls would have ears that they'd curse every day
Floors would have mouths that cry out in dismay

At night, every star in the sky would converse
With each lake and mountain that sits on this earth
To discuss all our pleasures that drive them to death
And to give us this message: Savor Each Breath
