In the Arms

The darkness, the light,
the failure, the fight
the strong, the weak
the mild, the meek
The faces of this place
aren’t together as they should be
we aren’t any better than our neighbors across the sea
Don’t forget who you are
What you stand for, what you do
I’m sure there are many who would trade places with you
You look back on your past
Say that you have cried for help
But I am sure that it has been much worse for someone else

The struggle, the pain
the hurt, the gain
lend a hand, be a friend
and all difference will be at an end
we say that we live
for freedom and for pride
so step up and take charge
don’t run away or hide

That’s why we are united
to help those who need guidance
to help the blind again see
and to help the prisoned be set free
So look around where’s the need
not with you, or with me
But with them, in the arms
of the many
who’ve been harmed
