Changing Seasons

The wind dances with the leaves
bright greens turn to burnt oranges
the sun beats down but the heat is hardly there
the birds sing a song to the trees, a sign that they'll be gone for awhile
the leaves whisper a goodbye as they fall to the awaiting ground
children put on jackets as they go outside to play
gathering leaves in a pile, parents scowl mother nature for cluttering their award winning yards
soon enough the wind sweeps away the leaves

White glitter dances across the gray sky and gathers on the ground
children bundle up as they go outside to play
throwing snowballs and building snowmen
they cry a song of happiness as they go inside
their cheeks blushed red from the blistering cool wind
but the couldn't care, the warm liquid of a mug of hot cocoa warms their insides
making it a perfect day
with shovels in hand, parents scowl mother nature for depositing snow and ice on the driveway
soon enough the snow turns to slush and the ice melts away
the roads are wet and the ground is mushy

The sun warms the wind and the birds come back home
The trees blossom new leaves and flowers begin to bloom
a world of color becomes present in this new day
children shed the layers of clothes
parents smile and thank mother nature for the beautiful weather
it seems like the most perfect time of year.
The distant sound of birds chirping and insects cricketing is heard all around

The heat becomes overwhelming
hot and sticky in the south
bees buzz around the open flowers
children play back yard ball, cautious to avoid the busy bees
in hopes of not getting stung
Cook out parties become a regular activity but often get ruined by the random showers
parents scowl mother nature for the humidity makes it hard to breathe
as they sip on a glass of cold ice tea
The feeling only lasts for a little while though before the world changes once again
