Paradise Mind

Imagine quiet forestry amidst the rural air
Within your mind, and nothing you can share
A place you go when all is grim
Where everything’s not sink or swim
You’re safe within the place your mind calls
Paradise where you think you are sane.

Everyone thinks you are lost, and perhaps you are
Lying there and staring at the stars
Your eyes show you’re slipping away
As they turn from dull to gray
They hope and pray that you’ll come back some day.

And you're leaving all your friends behind
And they think you’re not alive
Mind is dying, with every thought it takes
But you know you’ll stay awake
In the forest all forsake

In your perfect imagery there’s nothing you can’t stand
As you lie upon the river’s sand
The water washes tears away
As you look to the sunshine’s ray
And see the sky so crystal blue
It says there’s nothing beautiful as you.

The willows weep above your head, as you are mesmerized
Forget the times that you were mortified
The tall grass soft against your hands
That meets the sand without demands
Just wanting to be close to you, in
Life, in death, in hell or memory

And you're leaving all the world behind
For this place they’ll never find
Heart is beating, with the soft warm breeze
Though you’re body’s left to freeze
Without your soul’s life stream
But you’re happy with goodbye
Body’s losing, though it tries
With the last words said in the outer world
“I will see you in the light”.
