Summer Rains
The storm clouds are moving in now,
And the air smells like rain
Yet again for
Another day this summer
It’s funny because it’s been a few months
But I can still feel you in the rain drops.
Sometimes the wind blows
And I can’t help but think you’re next to me.
It’s crazy really
How fast things change
I had you once, but I’ve lost you twice.
First with your head
Then with your heart.
It’s been a few months.
But I can still feel you in the rain drops
In the gusts of wind
And sometimes I like to pretend.
You're here with me
We're happy as can be
But much like chalk
On the cracked sidewalk
Even lovers wash away.
And the air smells like rain
Yet again for
Another day this summer
It’s funny because it’s been a few months
But I can still feel you in the rain drops.
Sometimes the wind blows
And I can’t help but think you’re next to me.
It’s crazy really
How fast things change
I had you once, but I’ve lost you twice.
First with your head
Then with your heart.
It’s been a few months.
But I can still feel you in the rain drops
In the gusts of wind
And sometimes I like to pretend.
You're here with me
We're happy as can be
But much like chalk
On the cracked sidewalk
Even lovers wash away.
