Rabbit

As I lay inside my soft damp burrow,
I wait till everything is still,
Then out I sneak along the furrow,
Or up along the grassy hill.

I nibble all about the bushes,
Or sit to wash my face,
But if I hear a sound,
I thump and sniff,
I race and bound.

You'll see some little streaks and flashes,
A last sharp twink of white,
And down my hidy-hole I dash.
And I dissapear from sight.
