It all happened so fast.

"Hello," she greeted.
My heart pounded in my chest.
"Hello," I just repeated.
I think I did my best.

"I really like you," she had started.
"Why?" I replied with wonder.
She just stared back at my my eyes so I simply said,
"I like you too," to add more, I did not bother.

"I love you," she blurted out.
Butterflies fluttered in my tummy.
"I love you, too," I replied with no doubt,
but I was absolutely sure that I looked like a dummy.

"Goodbye," she said.
I didn't have the courage to stop her.
I might as well be good as dead,
but, for me, it wasn't over.

It all happened so fast,
but I knew I had to get over her.
I learned that lovers never last,
but I knew I wouldn't love any other.
