Past, Present, and the Future

If I can find a time machine,
I’d go back to that moment I had first seen.

Seen the beauty of the world through your eyes,
The eyes that I can’t forget, not after a hundred tries.

The moment your lips smiled at me,
Making me go weak at the knee.

The first words I heard coming out of your lips,
Sent lovely shivers throughout my body to my tips.

But then I want to go a year in the future,
To see if our relation got any better.

Yet I’m afraid of what I might find,
My worst fear is finding that you aren’t by my side.

The only future I want is with you,
Even if it means that we’ll end up living in a canoe.

Holding your hand to guide me through,
Even if where we’re going I have no clue.

It’s a harsh world we’ll have to face,
Yet with us together it’ll be as pretty as flowers in a vase.

I want to live today as it is,
Even if I know that this isn’t the best life like this.

I can’t make you care about me the way I care,
I prefer being with you as a friend than being elsewhere.
