Why my heart?

A heart doesn't always need to sound
A heart shouldn't always beat
why do you do this my heart?
running around without your armor
shouting love to strangers
they steal you away from me
and i hope for the best
always expecting the worst
but time again i find your remains
buried deep in my soul
your red tears puddled once more
and i patch you together
my heart now smaller than ever
missing pieces from the past
lost in thief's pockets
look at you now
covered in scars
your unrecognizable
the mirror reveals something different than before
not another love but a closed door
wearing a cracked masked
this is why
A heart doesn't always need to sound
A heart shouldn't always beat
