Hope To Die

It cannot cease a beat, I fear
Whatever demon's brought me here
And this place is where the promises meet
Broken, beaten, cheated, weak
So why am I amongst the corpses
Surely these aren't made of I-
Every single word unbroken
And every word a lie.

No, no, it just cannot be
They're far to ill to follow me
When on this cold Earth would've I
Ever have the reason
To cast such shadows to the night
Each born in simple treason
Demons, demons, living lies
Like needles glinting in their eyes
Though I remain the same
The sane
As far as I could ever see

No- these creatures do not follow me.

They are I in reality.

The whispers in the dark, behind my ear
They pry and coax and beg, they gloat
It's their hands sliding 'round my throat
But oh!
Is it the ever pleasant thought
To rue the noose so tight
Let the demons so close, so close
Promises to flames
Bid I jump so high, so high
Tell the world, untrustworthy deed,
Loose noose, dead, old hang-man me
With the creak of the rope on wood

Spill the lies, the cries a mortal weeps
A crossed heart so long enticed and evil
With the lust and sloth and greed and pride
Every breath- I hoped to die
It can't stop this fate I bore alone
While the night and light do stand as equals
Served out as pawns within those eyes
A promise falls and sets in stone
We, we're the same, born of the lie
These demons, as ill, as sick as I
And ever so subtly at the site
Glinting with the sins of needles

Twisted, wicked, vivid evil.
