When Autumn Turns Black

She was said to hide deep in the forest
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (Her cottage old and brittle.)
Scratching at her cranium
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (Hoping to release the devil.)
A greenish fluid ran through her system
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (Not blood, but venom.)
Some say she can kill a man
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (Just by brushing up against 'em.)
A few have said she talks to herself
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (About the day she was born in the fall.)
The day her mother killed her
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (The girl's father never found)
She describes the needles,
The poison,
Inoculated superhuman,
But left to die and rot.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII I spoke to this girl just once
And she said the following line
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII "Have you ever stopped to wonder,
If we're running out of time?"

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII it was then that autumn turned black.
That day,
I saw it.
Bloody and broken.
Tears of blanched lovers
And a bucket of shots.
No,
Not the ones you drink from,
The ones that inject you.
Those ones the infect you,
Prevent you from harm.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (To this day, needles cause me alarm.)
They stuck her skin and laughed,
Cackled if you will.
It was a noise that could seep into your mind.
For a second I knew her pain.
The venom that ran through every vein,
The poison that made her strong,
Was the one that made her belong to the world.
Being born to the autumn
With the leaves crushing your body
And the chill taking your soul.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII I came to my senses and she smirked with wide eyes.
"I hope you enjoy the tainted fluid,
For now you are one.
One of us,
None of them."

The last thing I remember was seeing the green liquid spilling through my wrists.

The black night sky hid my face with the wet fall leaves
And the rotten autumn trees.

The sky turned grey
And soon faded away
As we left the world to find another
Find the Earth where we'd begun.
The peace-filled planet
Not the blood-filled one.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII I just love how never caring about you
Makes me rotten to the core.
