Stars Dotting Vertical Horizons

Through the elusive feathers of a dream catcher,
the frigid winter wind blows listlessly
Listen to the night’s raspy breath,
as it equably meanders up your neck and down the rest
Asphyxiate the past’s dust in these contemplations,
revive my tarnished lips that are hollowed; breathlessly.

The indifferent notion of peace floats above my sleep,
parallel to the motion I continually fail to keep
Ice settles into the crevices of faraway lands,
Secret, surreptitious as I secrete stories of death; void of your critique
Sleep slithers out my nose, through these bed sheets;
The indiscernible audience of unholy spirits sees me weep and seizes a seat.

Rattling bones consist of this vacant girl’s body;
Slicing of her skin is her clandestine hobby
Lies shush her, silence her cries;
Brush back her hair as the color leaves her face as she dies.
