She Had The World

She had the world, every single star
She owned all blue sheen and glaze.
She lost everything she'd succumbed to
She lost it in a blaze.

She had each river, flowing bright
But then they flowed ruby red.
It was bittersweet, sickly, different
Each of them ran in dread.

She owned each diamond, blinking above
Each Heaven hiding them well.
But the stars opened up and poured out
There was no more room in Hell.

She knew each rainbow, inside out
But they cracked under the weight.
Each fragment fell from open arms
Into non-deserving fate.

She loved each sunset, early and fresh
She watched them every night in May.
But each sun faded, the wounds grew
The scars refused to bleed away.

She felt all laughter, saw the smiles
She heard each joyous ring.
But the laughter died eternally
And she couldn't feel a thing.

She had the world, she held it
Every whispered breath and lover's call.
She saw perfection but saw past the lie
And then she lost it all.
