Don't Tell Me

Don’t tell me
What I can and cannot do.
You don’t know me.
You’ve never worn my shoes.

Always in your expensive clothes,
Never dirty, but everyone knows
About your true hues,
And you don’t have a clue.

Don’t tell me
What I can and cannot be.
You should clean that dirt from your feet,
And take a hint from me.

Stop it with the dark,
And let me make my mark.
This world needs someone like me,
So don’t tell me.
