Her Darkness

Darkness; it gets the best of us. Closes in around us. Grabs us by the throats. Forces us to say things and don't do things we don't wanna do. Twisting life into a dark abyss. All you can hear is a deafening silence. Suffocating us. Smothering us. Killing us. All alone we are left to question ourselves, our morals, our beliefs, our sanity. We pick ourselves apart, letting the memories pry our confidence apart. Every breath strained, every move hesitated, ever word calculated, ever thought debated, every feeling-overwhelming. We die everyday. Murdered. We open our mouths to scream, beg, plead. Losing hope, losing fight, losing our way without a light. Searching, longing, begging, crying for a light. Dying slowly, fading. Bleeding to death. Emotionally bleeding to death, slowly bleeding to death. The darkness consumes us, changes us, kills us. We feel it pulse through our veins, feel it flood our hearts. Fear soon assaults our brains.Believing we deserve the darkness, we fade. We stop fighting it. We lose ourselves, who we are. The darkness washes over us, drowning out all light. We strain to push through, Push forward. Left blind, without eyes we finally see. The darkness never ends, we'll never be free.
