Moonbeam and Solar Flare

Once upon an eternal night,
I woke up with terrible fright,
Thinking the sun would never come,
But I told myself the thought was dumb!

Once upon that eternal moon,
I said the sun would be coming soon,
I waited for the sun’s rays to creep,
But suddenly fell back to sleep.

Once upon the crickets chirp,
I blamed the darkness on that twerp,
That once painted my window black,
Before I could check I hit the sack.

Once upon the midnight bell,
My life was cursed with a spell,
The sun would never bring its light,
And I am forever trapped in this eternal night.

Once upon the shining sun,
I woke and saw that the night was done,
And wiped my eyes and made my bed,
Clearing the thoughts out of my head.

Once upon the glowing rays,
It felt like it burned for days,
And I longed again for night,
That oh so eternal night.
