Desired

They're speaking in riddles,
She's banging on the walls.
And they're just watching,
Always watching.

The skies are midnight black,
She wishes she could see the sun.
She wants to step outside of this opaque box.

Oh sweet sorrow, let her go
For just a moment.

It's almost time for the show,
Turn the lights down low.
The night will pass so slowly,
You'll drown in the moonlight.

Another glass of wine
Catches her eye
From the shadows,
Temptations beckon.

She wants to be free,
Free of this tragedy.

What had she done wrong?
The moon calls to her broken soul.

She did her best,
The oceans can't even touch her swimming eyes.

Why won't the figures leave her?
She wondered whether the night would get bright.

The children scream for her to open her anguished eyes.
There's something outside

It was hot,
It got so hot.
