The Battle

THE BATTLE – MICA SHARELLE MOORE

She grabs the bottle, she looks in her glass.
Who’s that face in her vodka, who’s that looking back?
Her eyes are quite bloodshot, the cocktails a mess.
The reflection Called vodka, Gin, Cider and Jack.

And when the plot thickens she turns up the heat.
Until she is helpless, can’t stand on her feet.
Her eyes then roll violent to the back of her head,
Subconscious realisation, oh she wish she were dead.

And He plays on the strings of her big broken heart.
And he laughs like the devil, when she falls apart.
And he sings the words sweet like baby to rattle.
She’s crying and trying ……but he won the battle.

The hallway is filled with her unopened mail.
Slave to bottle that’s how she prevails.
It’s her only escape, He feeds on her clean mind.
Her family rejected, the worlds left her behind.

But he tells the story and bargains a deal.
She gives her soul, forgets all that was real.
A life full of hatred could be over so quick.
Suicidal depression and they said she weren’t sick!

And He plays on the strings of her big broken heart.
And he laughs like the devil, when she falls apart.
And he sings the words sweet like baby to rattle.
She’s crying and trying ……but he won the battle.

Up in the clouds, she feels free as a bird and she’s lifting her arms in the sky.
He runs up the hill, tries to grab her, too late, then she falls. Then she falls!
As she tastes the air fresh within her whole mouth, the air dries her face as she pummels down south. She’s sees all her friends in the clouds. She’s waving goodbye to the clouds. Good bye.

And He plays on the strings of her big broken heart.
And he laughs like the devil, when she falls apart.
And he sings the words sweet like baby to rattle.
She’s crying and trying ……
Ohhhh
She looks down upon a young girl just like her, and she sprinkles the wisdom and blows in her hair. She says ‘Darling your beautiful, Trust me I know. Don’t listen to Him, for you’ll go down below. Don’t listen to his words sweet like baby to rattle … Don’t cry, don’t you die ….. And he’ll loose the battle.
