Never Meant To Belong

A silent girl with reverberating cries,
To sound around her for all eternity.
Unceasing, not lessening in their strength.
She wears an ugly mask of decietful smiles--
Hoping beyond hope someone will notice the grins are painted.

They never do...

She sits in her corner, never moving,
Eyes downcast and closed.
The tears flow red, bloody from their force.
Maybe she just needs a friendly ear to listen
Or maybe she deserves this.

A girl bound to the life of the inconsolable.

They don't notice her praying for a friend, a true friend
One that won't abandon her, not yet.
It's the wish she never gets. The craving never filled.
Maybe it's not to be.

It's silly to want.

She, with the grace of a dying swan, stands from the corner
No purpose for the change, nor idea why, but she straightens
At last, at long last.
She struts with wobbling legs, slipping with the focus of a movement so new to her.
Her eyes are blind, blackness familiar in her world of death.
Moving her hands, she feels for anything to cling to,
A screaming girl trying to feel out the dark world.

A world where she was never meant to belong.

Her hands feel slowly, suddenly finding a point.
Wetness trickles from her finger's tip, dripping existance onto the unknown floor.
In the quiet, a smile draws on her face for the first time.
She slips her hand around the sharpness, reveling.

A tiny toy of excitement and novelty.

It's cold, the toy, in her bloody hand.
A hand that's wiped many tears, grabbed and tore and dug.
Like a child on Christmas, her eyes light up with a deadly idea.
Taking the length of the point in her hands, she hesitates to aim.
The fear inside her wanting her decision.

And without a breath, she takes the plunge.

The sharpness pierces swiftly, a sigh of relief escaping her lips at the feel.
She feels the skin tear, peeling away in the force of the point.
The pain is sweet, horrible and wonderful as it penetrates. Oh the feeling!
Its shocking, the bloodflow from the tiny, deep puncture.
It cuts through her sinews and ribs, stabbing at her abused heart.
A final pain to clear her destroyed mind.

And then, she breathes no more.
