Sometimes Satan

When I lay my head to rest,
the devil dreams a dream.
Lamented on my chest;
the stigma of the fiend.

I have stolen Christ's crown,
and looked at you like scum.
I watched this world drown,
and called the plague to come.

The earth is sick and frail,
malignant with my curse.
I have come here from hell,
and can't tell which is worse.

I have come from the sky
just to teach you how to hate.
You cupped your hands to pray
but it was far too late.
