My Best Friend

She was "normal"
Well...
At least our version of "normal"

Her smile was natural
Her voice was confident
Her skin was unharmed

She is my bestfriend
My true friend
My sister

We have eachothers backs
Weither she needs to get away
Or I need someone to talk to.
We are always there.

Having her as a friend I feel blessed.
No one knows more about me then her,
And no one knows more about her,
Then me.

But in the last year
More drama has entered her life.
With her mom...
Her dad...
And her sexuality.

As I saw her face become
Less natural and
Less confident
It became more harmed.

I told her
"I'm here..."
She knew that and remained silent.

That's when I said,
"... And you need me..."
She knew she couldn't hide it from me.

She feared I would yell
That I would be mad
That I would abandon her.

But she is my friend
And I would never leave her
Because I love my sister.
