The Hopeless Romantic: Season to Remember

Still not here
The train that should be
I stare at the clock, my arrival is early
The sky is black, the moon not in sight
Something is falling, cold and white

They're falling down
In pairs of two
The whitest of snow, long overdue
This bench where I'm seated is cold as stone
With no one around, I'm truly alone

It's no surprise
The Holiday is now
Celebrating the birth of someone Holier-than-though
Many may be distracted, by the gifts and the tree
Yet everyone together's, everyone but me

Huddled for warmth
Snow in December
My mind drifts in memories to always remember
The times I had with the ones I loved
Past lovers that seemed like angels from above

It was Heaven
For awhile, my heart still mending
Even fairy tales have some sort of ending
So I take in the good, shed whatever was bad
Recollecting and cherishing everything I had

My First Love
Kate was her name
Childhood friends, long distance was to blame
I waited for her, 5 years exact
Roses in hand, she gave me her back

Kayla came next
Too opposite from the start
No surprise we began to grow apart
Rose was amazing, took me in for a whirl
Didn't last for long, she wanted a girl

Could never forget
The girl with blonde hair
T'was confusing we broke up, I assume an affair
Speaking of which, remembering Ruth
She cheated and lied, even chipped a tooth

Then there's Kassandra
The latest in line
I cried my heart out the stars couldn't align
She did no wrong, though my last note was in tears
Hoping we'll meet again, give or take a few years

Long and Short
Time and Distance
Love just happens in an instance
Don't go chasing, wait it out, let it come
Hold out your heart, let it beat it's own drum

I loved them
No matter, no haste
The memories tucked in a warm warm place
The kisses and hugs, I hold so dear
3 stupid words I'll always long to hear

I love you
A smile grows
Reality strikes, as the engine blows
The train, it's here, time to go
One last look, stepping in, hello

This is part 3 of the Hopeless Romantic series. Yes, I've decided to turn a running theme in my poems into a full fledged series. I'll continue to write about the adventures of the Hopeless Romantic, poems in rhyme but can still convey a story.
