Dance of the Ancients(A Fleeing Soul)

The sunset, blazing with such beautiful clarity.
The shadows, so soft and almost vague.
The perfect quiet, not quite silence.
We wait for nightfall, then we will dance.
Dance the Dance of the Ancients.

The air, so calm, so cool. So... Fragrant.
The drums, they're starting. Starting slowly, like my heartbeat.
The ritual has started, our time to dance has come.
As we near the clearing, the fire roars to life, pulsing with the drums.
Now we dance. We dance the Dance of the Ancients.

That slow beat. It seems to us the flames have started to dance.
Now we must start. Left. Left. Right-Left-Right-Right-Left. Right. Repeat.
The steps, so simple, starting slowly. Growing faster. The Dance has begun.
Over and over, moving in circles around the ceremonial fire. We feel our souls set free!
The Ancients are among us.

Dance the Dance of the Ancients.

This is the "story" of a small native american tribe known as the Irukano tribe. They, unlike most tribes of their time, were polygamists(believed in multiple entities). They worshipped the Ancients, or the "True" Spirits. The spirit with the most impact on them was Ooljee Onatah, or "Moon Of The Earth." This is just a tribute to a lesser known tribe. I truly hope you enjoyed this.
