Love and Hate

My stomach is in knots
That curl and tangle into a painful truth:
I will never lose my memory.
The broken glass lunges at the bottoms of my feet
Like hungry demons.
They slice murderously through my skin.
Blood splashes with each step, until I stand in a deep, red ocean.
Do I drown myself in the flood,
Or swim through it,
As if it were every other pain that my heart has ever felt?
My sight fades to black and my mind flies to the past.
Your face, in multitudes, surrounds me,
And with it comes tears and smiles in abundance.
You are everything,
Right and wrong,
That I have ever known.
And I hate you more each day.
And I love you,
Now,
More than ever.
