A World Beyond My Reach

I don’t know where you came from,
But you’re right before my eyes,
A world beyond my vision,
Reflecting the blue sky.
Light glinting off the surface,
From the sprightly moon above,
Its mysteries are darker,
Like an old and seasoned love.
What’s hiding underneath you?
What’s waiting in the deep?
I’m close enough to touch you,
But too afraid to leap.
Your surface feels like velvet,
With your calm and still allure,
But when you tumble forward,
I love you that much more.
I try to think of nothing,
As I step into the tide,
To find out for myself,
What the horizon has to hide.
