You Painted a Picture

Pure hatred burns
Spreads like wildfire
A knife in my chest
Heart strung in a wire

All out in the open
Exposed to the breeze
Like ice coursing through me
Chilling bone deep

You painted a picture
With my gushing blood
Deep scarlet lines
Made the paper flood

My chest is sewn back up
Scars still litter my chest
Another battle wound
I know I should have guessed
