A Race of The Human Variety
We are born to pay the price of living -
expensive and unjustly so
so we practice the art of giving
to pretend we all have a soul
We are born to inhale pollutants
and the breath of a collective mass
to listen to hearts that beat out of tandem,
and to lend an ear to formalities that come to pass
We are born to multiply by twos -
and to do simple things like tying shoes
but upon this we build routes to success and fame
anything at all - anything! to glorify our shame
And above all else, we are born
to realize that everything we do -
every misuse, every mistake, every misstep -
is only so the world can play us as a fool
expensive and unjustly so
so we practice the art of giving
to pretend we all have a soul
We are born to inhale pollutants
and the breath of a collective mass
to listen to hearts that beat out of tandem,
and to lend an ear to formalities that come to pass
We are born to multiply by twos -
and to do simple things like tying shoes
but upon this we build routes to success and fame
anything at all - anything! to glorify our shame
And above all else, we are born
to realize that everything we do -
every misuse, every mistake, every misstep -
is only so the world can play us as a fool
