Valley of Opposites

Rocks of moss
Grass of wood
Trees of watery ice
Flowers of stone

All things within the valley
Have long been rendered akin to alien
By some magic force
Unknown

No one resides within
All who dwell around stay far away
Fearing to bring the curse to their own homes
Or unto themselves

But strangers from afar
Pay long trips to see anomalies
Somewhere within themselves they know
There is no fear to feel

The valley of strange opposites
Is not evil
The magic shows us
There is beauty in the diff’rence

This poem was inspired by a single line in a poem written by Edgar Allan Poe called The City in the Sea. It's been a while since I've written poetry, though, so I might be a bit rusty. I apologize if it's not that great.
