I am from

I am from the mountains
The high peaks we climbed
The cold snow that fell
The sound of the river rushing through the trees
Crisp, fresh air filled my nose

I am from the new year
January starts off another year of my life
Firecrakers burn and my candles are lit
Bringing to the air the scent of smoke

I am from the animals
The tigers that rawr
The birds that cawed
The monkeys that climbed
Bringing my everyday question
"Can we go to the zoo?"

I am from the mall
Wanting everything I see
Vibrant clothes surround me
The smell of the food court overwhelms me
Just one problem
The price tags laugh at me

I am from the court
The bright orange ball tossed left and right
The crowd stands,
Suspense fills the air as my first score is made
Faces of my supporters brighten the front row

I am from rhythms
Beats and melodies stream through my heart
Feelings of love and hate flow through the lyrics
Bringing us all together, hand in hand
My music plays

I am from friends
Their love and support keeps me going
In hard times my true friends are revealed
They are my blood that flows and my heart that beats

I am from colors
Dark and Light, vibrant and dull
Expressing my personality and feelings
Creating an aura that surrounds me

I am from my dinosaur buddy
New to my world, but easily confided in
There to be true and understanding
Beautiful and kind
She is who everyone should be

I am from my panda bear
Loving and compassionate
Always been there
Never absent in desperate times
His love flowing endlessly

I am from long lines
My family tree spreads wide
Some branches don't touch
But some intertwine
Yet I seed it from them all
