If I Said I Was Perfect, I Would Be Lieing

If you think of me as perfect,
Underneath my smile there are secrets.
You can start by looking at my crescent shaped eyes,
They seem so joyful, but they are covered.
Underneath their shield there are dark circles from when I stay up late thinking of ways i can escape my life,
But you wouldn't know that.
Next you can look at my smile,
It hides the frown that comes across it when I think about the people that talk about me as if I can't hear,
But you wouldn't know that.
Now look at my wrists.
They are covered with bracelets of many different shapes and sizes,
Some are glittery and some are plain, their only purpose is to hide the scars of when I've cut too deep.
But you wouldn't know that.
Im not as perfect as everyone thinks, but just like everyone else,
You wouldn't know that.
