Screams of Life

Screams of eternity,
Echo in my gloom.
Screams of paternity,
Echo in my room.

Baby blue eyes stare up at me,
I look back curiously,
I wonder just what they see.
A flash of clarity, I scribble furiously.

Jotting down these notes pertaining to,
What is none other than life itself,
Sending wistful letters to recipients who,
I am yet to meet, so they rest on my shelf.

And now you've found them, so I tell you this,
Tempered steel cuts the thickest of shackles,
But only by burning the midnight oil can you dismiss,
Any chance of failure, So work away as the fire crackles.
